AD- This is a paid post in collaboration with Swaprs

At Thrifty Londoner, we are all about sharing new ways to save money on the everyday. Especially if it’s something that could save you money and help to protect the environment. Thriftiness and eco-friendly living can often go hand-in-hand, which is why today we are talking about swapping goods and services with online swap-shop Swaprs.

What is a swap shop?

You may have already heard of, or even attended, a swap shop in London already without knowing it. Clothes swapping pop up stores and events have become super popular with those wanting to spend less on clothing and reduce their impact on the environment. The idea is that everyone brings along a few items of clothing they no longer want, and then everyone gets to swap!

But what about all of the other items that could be swapped with other people for free? Or even services and information? Enter Swaprs.

What is Swapers?

Swaprs is a brand new peer-to-peer swapping service which has just launched in London. It’s a brilliant platform where you can swap items and services for free with other people. You can swap just about anything, and could swap an item for a service if you wish to. For example, if you wanted to get rid of some old university textbooks, you could swap these with someone in exchange for a piano lesson!

It’s super easy, quick and FREE to use this service.

Swaprs has a mission to get millions of people to swap all manner of goods and services to help people save money, waste less and stop things going to landfill.

How does it work?

All you have to do, is upload your items and services onto the website to begin with. You could upload absolutely anything like furniture, clothing, or a toolkit. Think about non-material things that you could offer too- perhaps you’re skilled in a language, or maybe you could offer someone a weekend in your home in exchange for a weekend at theirs? House swaps, skill swaps, clothing swaps and more are all possible on the swap site.

After you’ve uploaded your items and services, you can then make and receive offers within the marketplace. You can search for swaps by selecting what you’d like to offer and/or what you’re looking for in return. Once you find something you like the look of, you can message the owner and (hopefully!) arrange a swap.

The beauty of swapping with other people is that it creates a sense of community, and allows anyone to create value from their unwanted items or their skills and expertise. It costs absolutely nothing and also helps the environment that we live in- how’s that for a brilliant new service?!
