Perhaps you’re looking to test out a gym before you commit, or perhaps you’re only going to be in town for a short time. Maybe you’re travelling, and you’d like to find some free gym passes in London. There are lots of gyms and studios offering free day passes (sometimes up to seven days!), so you’re not short of options. Some of the gyms you’ll gain access to are even in central London, so you can grant yourself access to some of London’s most expensive gyms, for free!
1. Fitness First
Fitness First allows you to get a 3 day free gym pass to use their facilities. You can do a free gym trial at selected Nuffield Health gyms in London. The one day pass is valid for 7 days after download, and you must be aged 18 or over to be eligible for this one day trial. This gym pass is the perfect option for anyone in central London, as the Nuffield Health gyms based in Bloomsbury and Barbican are both eligible for the free pass.
Facilities include state of the art equipment (including cardio machines, resistance training and free weights), swimming pool, sauna and steam room. A typical membership to Nuffield Health at Bloomsbury or Barbican is around £84 per month, so the free pass is a great deal.
Top tip: sometimes Nuffield Health will offer a free 3 day pass. Click on the gym location you are interested in, for example, Bloomsbury. Then check to see if you are offered the 3 day pass.
4. The Hidden Gym
Based in Southwark, The Hidden Gym is open to everyone and to people of all fitness levels. The non-intimidating gym is fitted out with a resistance room, cardio area, and two studios.
Claim your free pass over on their website. The free pass is a one day pass, and expires 7 days after your initial request. So make sure you use it! A great way to make the most of the free day pass is to book in for the free pass with a friend or a partner, especially if you’re new to the gym. That way, you can make the most of it, they can help you with a workout routine, and it becomes a social event too.
5. Virgin Active
Virgin Active offer a 30 day free membership to their Virgin Active Online+ offering. Online+ is an app based platform where you can select from hundreds of pre-recorded work out classes and exclusive offers. Within the app you can set your goals and select a fitness plan too.
As part of Online+ you can also visit Virgin Active locations with one of your Club Passes. There are Virgin Active gyms all over London, including very central London locations. Head to their website to find your nearest club.
ClassPass is more suited to those who love fitness classes- but you can often get two weeks’ membership totally free when you trial the pass. Usually costing £65, you can also save £40 off the cost of this by using a refer a friend code.
ClassPass allows you to book into classes all over London through their dedicated app making it super easy to go to classes with friends after work or at the weekend. Fitness classes include Pilates, yoga, spinning, boxing and much, much more.
7. Freedom Leisure
Freedom Leisure offer sporadic free gym passes at certain locations throughout the year. It makes it harder to plan for, but if you have a Freedom Leisure location near to your home, it could be worth keeping an eye on their social media pages so that you can swoop in when they do offer a free pass.
The ethos behind Freedom Leisure is that they are a not-for-profit charitable organisation that aim to improve lives through leisure. There are over 100 locations throughout the UK, and you’ll find gyms, swimming pools, fitness classes and sports halls at many of their venues.
8. Move app
Move is an app-based fitness platform where not only do you receive access to hundreds of workouts, but you can also book onto free trials, taster session, and get free gym passes in London. The Move app is free to join for three days, and thereafter there are tiered membership plans available.

9. Fusion Lifestyle

Jubilee Hall Gym is owned and run by Jubilee Hall Trust. This is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to promote the health of the communities in which we work.
